My experience with Go game2008-02-12 22:49:06
While staying in Taipei these months in order to learn more Chinese language, I used time and location effectively for practicing Go game. Most of the time I either play in the club here or online. I have also taken part in 2 tournaments here. I was happy to win my 2nd tournament where about 40 people took part. It was in Swiss system, 5 rounds, and I won all the games.

I feel Go and Renju techniques have a lot in common, although the rules are completely different. In both Go and Renju the player must play very optimal moves (for common player it means "risky moves") by which you can gain the necessary advantage. Being too passive or submissive can lead to a total absence of winning chance in Renju games, and loss of points in Go game (because of making slow moves).

Therefore, practicing Go games can give for Renju games a good habit of playing more aggressively (while carefully calculated, of course) in attack, and more bravely in defense (using perhaps not the strongest defense move, but a sufficient defense move while being most profitable move for self in the aspect of own development).

Below is the diploma of my 2nd tournament and the dan license.
