Our Euroleagu match: Purk is Purk vs. cRUSaders2008-04-03 04:46:22
Purk is Purk: Aivo Oll, Renee Pajuste, Ain Salula and Paul Väljataga
cRUSaders: Alexey Ritter, Konstantin Nikonov, Pavel Makarov, Nikolay Poltaratskiy and Eldar Dzaynukov
Unfortunately, we lost 6 - 10.
I will show my games with brief comments.
First game: Aivo Oll vs. Konstantin Nikonov

I decided to play 13-13 instead of 13-22 because white has no chances to win there if black plays decently. Anyway, my own position was not that good either to win and after 68th move my opponent offered me a draw. I did not accept because I knew I had to get as much points as possible in order to give my team a chance to win. In the end I was extremely lucky since Nikonov had over 3 minutes of thinking time left.
Second game: Aivo Oll vs. Alexey Ritter

I was pleasantly surprised by his 14th move because I know that black should have a decent advantage there. It also took him quite some time to play those moves up to 20. Then I started thinking myself, finally I decided to play 21-21 because it looked to me that I could not play 21-40 but I guess that 21-21 wasn`t so bad either. Already after 25th move my opponent was in time trouble. So, in the end I was a bit lucky to win.
Third game: Aivo Oll vs. Eldar Dzainukov

I guess my opponent tried to surprise me with this 18th move but he surprised me with his 20th and 22th move because they were really bad. I am not sure if white can defend effectively after those moves. His 34th was the final mistake. I guess he should have just played 20-23.
Fourth game: Aivo Oll vs. Nikolay Poltaratskiy

When he opened D5 I of course changed to black and waited what plan did my opponent had here. Seems to me that he did not have one since his moves were way too passive, especially his 18th. After that white`s position was out of control. My 31st move gave a nice connection for the win, 30-g6 would have offered at least some resistance.
