Moscow Cup. Tarannikov - Sirategyan | 2008-02-17 17:54:21 |
This Saturday (February 16) I played my next game of Moscow Cup with Karen Sirategyan. For Karen it was the second game in this day (he will leave Moscow for some time soon, so he must finish all games of a preliminary stage in a short time). It the first game of this day Karen defeated Vladimir Sinitsyn in the game by Taraguchi rules.
I played this game as the Player Number One. So, I started to reject rules. At the first step I had rejected RIF rules, of course. Karen had rejected Sakata rules. At the next step before me it was the choice which rules to reject: Taraguchi, Yamaguchi or Jonsson? |
|
I had decided to reject Taraguchi rules. I estimate Taraguchi rules much higher than two other remained set of rules from the point of playing possibilities but I made this decision in view of tactical considerations: I played as the Player Number One and by Jonsson or Yamaguchi rules I had possibilities to play a variant with three or more 5th alternative moves chosen by me which I analyzed recently much more extensively than my opponent (he will play at the next week in high league of Russian championship by RIF rules, so he prepared actively by RIF rules). Whereas by Taraguchi rules Sirategyan as the Player Number Two could swap after the first move and after my 2nd move to make his own 3rd move, i. e. he could choose the opening. He acted by this way in his previous game against Sinitsyn and played in this game his favourite Direct 8. The following part of our game has demonstrated that I was right in my decision to reject Taraguchi rules.
Karen had rejected Yamaguchi rules (so, I missed again the possibility to make six 5th alternative moves). The only remained rules were Jonsson rules and the game was played by Jonsson rules.
Obviously, to use my advantage in the preparation by new rules I was needed to put the opening optimal with three 5th alternatives. I used Indirect 11 already in this tournament, Indirect 10 is not in style that I wanted to have in this game, Indirect 8 can lead to long drawn variants. Therefore, I decided to use Direct 7 this time. Karen had not a clear plan what to do, therefore he swapped, I made 4th move with three alternatives, Karen swapped again and I put three 5th alternative moves. |

Diag. 1
In this position the moves 5.i10 and 5.i9 are very well known moves that give an advantage to black. Since these two stong moves are very well known and very deeply analyzed, other 5th moves were used by serious players very rarely (in games by RIF rules, of course). Therefore, databases contain very few number of reasonable games played with another 5th moves including 5-5. The move 5.g9 is possible too.
Sirategyan had played 6-f9. This is the most principal continuation. If 6-g7 then 7-g9. If 6-g9 then 7-g7 or 7-i9. If 6-i9 then 7-g9 or 7-j9. In all these cases black has a safe position. |
|
Diag. 2
If 9-11 then 10-d9 and white wins (see diag. 3) |
|
Diag. 3
Beginning with 10 at Diag. 2 white start a foul attack. More calm development is shown at Diag. 4. |
|
Diag. 4
The position is equal.
The position after 15 at Diag. 2 appeared in the game Degtiar-Kozhin (European Championship, 1995), see Diag. 5. |
|
Diag. 5
After 17-?? white won in two moves by 3x3 foul in the point h6. The correct 17-! is shown at Diag. 6. |
|
Diag. 6.
27-h6 is not a foul 3x3 since 23-19-27 is not a three because g7 is the foul 4x4.
Karen Sirategyan made another 16 at Diag. 2 (see Diag. 7). |
|
Diag. 7
Playing the four 18-19 white could have more possibilities for a defence in the following part of the game. |
|
Diag. 8
After such straight attempt of white, black defends by 23! (23-i4 loses because of a foul in the point h4).
The position at Diag. 7 is safe for black. Moreover, black has an advantage already since black had surrounded stones of white already, and black has nice perspectives in emply parts of the board.
I played the position at Diag. 7 before in internet offline. My opponent had resigned after the 23th move (see Diag. 9). |
|
Diag. 9.
White has not a defence. |
|
Diag. 10
Karen Sirategyan tried another moves but the position of black is too strong and after 25 white has not chances to defend. |
|
Diag. 11
After 30 I had missed my long VCF (find it yourself as a homework) but I saw my more short win already. |
|
Diag. 12
White resigned after 43. The fork 4x3 follows in the point l10.
Moscow players wish a success to Karen Sirategyan and Konstantin Nikonov at the high league of Russian Championship in Saint Petersburg at the next week!(Unfortunately, still by RIF rules.) Another very important aim of Konstantin and Karen (and also Natalya Nikonova who will accompany them) is to process the vice-president of the Assosiation of Russian Renjuplayers Pavel Salnikov and also other Russian renjuplayers for their more resolute position in the question of opening rules. |
