About the books that I am writing | 2008-02-13 23:22:26 |
I started to write my book of renju openings over 7 years ago. I completed the fully designed pages of i1, i2, i3, i4, i5 and partially i6 of my theory book. However, the realization that the opening rules might change in the future hindered my passion of continuing with the theory book. Now that it is pretty clear that current RIF opening rule has no future and has to be changed as soon as possible, I have put the theory book aside.
The reason is quite simple - I do not want to spend so much time and energy on publishing the book that might become almost useless the day the rules change. So I decided to wait for the official change first, then adjust my theory book accordingly. The parts of i1, i2 and i3 can be downloaded in www.renjuclass.com site for credit points. The i4 and i5 files have not been published anywhere yet.
Currently, I am writing a book that has a little influence from the changes of opening rules - the Skills of Renju. The title of the book may change at the end, but the content is about the techniques and tactics of renju. So far I have divided it into 20 chapters, but there may be more chapters as the writing goes on.
The second book that I plan to write is about the history of World Championships. I would like to sum up all the 10 world championships until now, give my fresh comments to the games of those tournaments, and so on. Of course, for the fans of statistics, all kinds of tournament tables and score sheets will be added to that book too. After all, people like to read the history from paper, rather than from the screen.
The original version of my books will be English, but there will also be an official Chinese version, for sure, because there are so many Chinese renju players in the world.
Somehow, the delay of the rules changes has hindered a lot my passion for renju as a player, but I would still like to contribute to the world of renju by completing renju books. |
