Originally there were 20 players signed up for the Qualification Tournament, but Armenian player Aleksey Kobzev did not show up, therefore his name was excluded from the table. Because of his absence, there was the odd number of players, and one player in each round got the win point without playing, and it is marked as "+" in the tournament table.

An additional China player was allowed to play in the QT while everybody assumed that Kobzev will come, so that the total number would be even, but later turned out that Kobzev did not arrive at all. It meant that the additional seat for "balancing the table" that was given to China was in vain, and it was odd number after all. It would have been too unfair to cancel the Chinese additional player after the official pairing, and it would have been even more unfair to add the 4th China player to balance again. Therefore it was decided to go on with 19 players.
It was a good lesson for future organizers not to allow players to register who are absent by the deadline, to avoid such mess.
