This 5th move was a clever tactics by Gu Wei. Obviously Xue Wenxi had prepared some traps for the 5-k8 and if black would fail the attack there then it would be impossible to avoid loss after that.
This 5th move gave black very safe and confident advantage, especially with such 6th move. However, the 13th move was too soft - it allowed to build a white attack directly. The variant is a bit similar to i5 opening. The only difference is the location of the 3rd stone. |

| Ando ,if i am black i will play k8.i think we should try to find win in real games,and Mr kawamura had pubilshed his analysis about this move ,and u had taught the theroy about this move .we should chanllenge ourself in real games :)the result is not so important :)Yes ,it is similar to the main variant of i5 opening :) |
