We have mentioned that black can have total control very easily here, until the end of game. So white can only choose between draw or loss. However, this time he probably counted on opponent's weak decisions during the opening stage. I think the strongest 7th move is still the simplest one - g9. But black player did still a very good job later and attacked for a long time. Only by the 40th move, Aivo Oll surely secured the position and took over the initiative. From there, it was only a matter of time until white could win.
